FORMAT FOR THE FINAL EXAM: (worth 10% of overall mark)
Section 1: SLIDE IDENTIFICATION (K-10 marks, T-10 marks, A-10 marks)
SLIDES #1-10 - You will be shown slides from our Art History slide list that you have studied this year. You may be asked to provide 2 of the following: Artist, Title, Movement or Time Period. Each piece of information is worth half a mark. NO DATES! (Knowledge - 10 marks)
SLIDES #11-15 - Identify the Movement OR the Artist (Images may or may not be from our slide list) (Thinking - 5 marks)
SLIDES #16-20 - Identify the Movement OR the Artist (Images may or may not be from our slide list) AND provide 2 reasons to support your answer. (Thinking - 5 marks, Application - 10 marks)
Section 2: WHAT IS THE ARTIST EXPRESSING? (C-20 marks)
You will be shown 4 slide images. For each, in a short paragraph answer, explain what you think the artist is communicating AND explain how he/she achieves this message. Each is 5 marks - recommended that you write 5 sentences!
Section 3: STUDIO CONCEPTS - TROUBLESHOOTING (T-10 marks)
There will be 10 scenarios involving the Monoprinting Process. For each statement, provide your best professional advice on why the situation occurred. Short sentence response - 1 mark each.
Section 4: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE (K-10 marks, A-20 marks)
FIRST 3 DRAWINGS - Basic drawing skills of cylindrical shapes. Looking for accuracy. You will be given some starting points. (Knowledge - 10 marks)
4TH DRAWING - Perspective Drawing of the chair, table or house (could be 1 point or 2 point perspective). (Application - 20 marks)
Practice those drawings again.
