You will create a design for a Christmas Card that may be printed and distributed within our school board & school community. You card must reflect our school, so choose your imagery appropriately.
STEPS:
1. Take one page in your sketchbook to brainstorm with rough sketches some potential ideas for your card design.
2. Conference with the teacher to ensure that your chosen idea is appropriate.
3. Complete your design on a 5 x 7 " card using a variety of media (e.g. pencil crayons, pen, paper, etc.) - we will look at options in class.
PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS:
- Keep imagery appropriate (perhaps some religious undertones would be nice)
- Do NOT copy cartoon characters (e.g. Frosty, Rudolf, etc.)
- keep it simple!
CRITERIA:
- size: 5 x 7"
- limit your colours (max. 4)
- use a variety of media
- make it neat and complete
HOW YOU WILL BE MARKED:
THINKING - 10 MARKS
How well does your design reflect the needs of your client (a.k.a the Principal)? Is the imagery appropriately Christmas-related and symbolically religious? Did you think about the required criteria for completion (listed above)?
