Assignment Instructions:

1. Research your assigned artist - read their bio, look at their artwork, watch videos / interviews featuring them (take notes in your sketchbook and be sure to record your sources for later).

2. Put together a Powerpoint presentation featuring your artist.  Please include the following...
    - the name and photo of your artist
    - give a short bio of your artist (e.g. where they are from, what they have done, interesting info.)
    - list characteristics common to their body of art (e.g. what media / approaches they often use, preferred subject matter, etc.)
    - highlight ONE art piece that you think people should know & tell us about it - provide large photo, credit line, and key points
    - show us 3 other examples of their work - provide photos & credit lines only
    - provide a list of sources (MLA bibliography format) you used at the end

3. Submit your presentation (ppt format) to the teacher on Fri. Sept. 23 so that it can be uploaded - bring it on USB or access through the cloud

4. Be prepared to present your artist the following week - you will have max. 10 minutes to share your info. with the class (please inform the teacher of any conflicts that would prevent you from being able to present on a particular day)

ASSESSMENT:
Communication (10 marks) - How well did you verbally and visually communicate info. about your artist to your audience?
Knowledge (5 marks) - How well did you research your artist? (i.e. accurate / clear & concise information, references provided, etc.)

GUIDELINES:
- Please use only plain white or plain black slides (decorative themes can distract from the art)
- Use a legible standard font (nothing fancy or distracting) with a minimum font size of 20pt.
- Search and download medium-large resolution photos (no less than 600 pixels in height or width) - use "size" filter on Google Image Search
- include credit lines for all photos (artist, title, medium, date - location optional)
- NO CUTTING AND PASTING FROM THE INTERNET! This will be considered plagiarism and will result in ZERO for your presentation!
