EXAM FORMAT FOR GRADE 10 RELIGIOUS ART: Period 4 EXAM: Monday January 29th, 2017
Section 1: Fill in the Blanks IMAGE RECOGNITION(5K 5C 5T 5A) I will show you an image you have seen in class and will ask you a specific question. How to study? Review the information associated with the images I showed you. (you can look at the images again in my lesson, scroll down and download power points) For example: -the use of symbolism in architecture -the different types of love -images relating to being human -some images you may not recognize and that is intentional, I will ask you to think about how they relate our teachings.
Section 2: Multiple Choice COURSE CONTENT (20A) You will have a variety of multiple choice questions related to course content. For example: - formation of the Gospels - Prayer and Sacramental Life - Symbolism - the Our Father - What does it means to be human - Jean Vanier’s 5 principles of humanity - Bergoglio’s article about wonder
Section 3: Fill in the Blanks TEACHINGS and BELIEFS (20K) This section consists of a number of lists. I will ask you to list specific teachings and beliefs found in our notes. Exact wording is important. How to study? This is where you will need to use your memorizing / recallings skills, use the images I have provided to help you recall the teaching/belief. For examples: - The Social Justice Teachings of the Catholic Church - Characteristics of Humanity - Types of Prayer - Natures of Christ - Gospel Formation - Parts of the Mass
Section 4: Long Answer BIBLICAL EXEGESIS (10T 10C) Just like our scripture unit, you will be asked to complete a biblical exegesis of two art works. I will mark your breakdown of the paintings as well as your written part. How to study?: you can look at the Biblical passages and the relating images that we discussed together. Review techniques to help you breakdown and figure out the painting presented before you. I may or may not use paintings you know, I am testing your ability to figure it out on your own NOT your ability to memorize.
