Section 1: Fill in the Blanks - Slide Identification (10 Knowledge & 10 Application)
I will show you an image from our art history slide list and you will be asked to provide the artist and title. Use the quizlet application to help you study. You will need to know the artist name and title of the work.
As for the Egyptian, Greek and Roman you will need to recognize the time period (you do NOT need to know the names of the work). I will show you an image and you will need to know if it is Egyptian, Greek or Roman.
Study the pyramid development, types of columns and architectural features.
Section 2: Short Answers - Slide Details (20 Thinking)
In this section I will show you a work of art from our slide list and ask you a specific question relating to that work. Review your art history notes. You can get any missed notes from our website (www.sjaart.ca)
Section 3: Matching - Art Theory (20 Application)
Study techniques and terminology from our 4 main units (painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing) all info is in your green course booklet.
Section 4: Fill in the Blanks - Short Answers (10 Knowledge)
Memorize the Elements of Design, Principles of Design, Purposes of Art, & Art Approaches. You will be asked to list them
Section 5: Long Answer - Art Critique (10 Communication & 10 Application)
You will be asked to write a critique regarding a particular image. Use as many art terms from class as you can to express yourself.
Section 6: Hands-on - Visual Communication (10 Communication Marks)
You will be asked to re-draw an image with specific criteria, (for example re-draw image with organic shapes only).
You will be asked to change an image to make it lino ready.
